BEHAVIOR WEBSITE
To track student behavior, work habits, and overall effort, students and parents are asked to sign up for a Class Dojo Account. Class Dojo is a great app that allows teachers, parents, and students to monitor behavior and effort in a fun way! Parents receive weekly updates via email and can use the messaging feature to get in contact with your teacher. Visit: http://www.classdojo.com and log in as a parent or student.

iPAD APPLICATIONS: The following is a list of iPad apps that I use in the classroom as well as with my lesson plan preparations. If you have an iPad, I recommend downloading these apps, many of which are free! Recommended Websites are also included at the bottom of this list.
GENERAL ACADEMICS
CS Core: This app contains the adopted California Common Core Content Standards in an easy to access format that is organized by subject and grade level.
Khan Academy: This app is a great resource that covers a great number of topics, including K-12 math, science topics, and humanities.
Flashcards+: This app is an easy way to learn and study new information. Easily create flashcards to use when studying.
LANGUAGE ARTS
MeeGenius: Download children’s e-books onto your iPad to engage and educate young readers.
Storia: Scholastic’s Free e-Reading app that engages students to become more confident readers while building comprehension and vocabulary skills.
Toontastic: A storytelling and creative learning tool that enables kids to draw, animate, and share their cartoons.
Grammaropolis: An ode to School House Rock, Grammaropolis uses the parts of speech as animated characters wholes personalities are based on the roles they play in the sentence. Every part of speech has its own neighborhood that includes a curriculum map with songs, books, videos, and quizzes.
Cursive Writing HD: Practice cursive letters, numbers, words and even sentences with this application.
MATH
Math Drills Lite: Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts and move towards mastery of facts.
Meteor Math: Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems in this arcade-like game!
Motion Math - Hungry Fish: This app practices mental math addition and subtraction problems.
SushiMonster: This Scholastic game practices, reinforces, and extends Math facts fluency that is engaging and challenging. This app helps strengthen reasoning strategies for whole number addition and multiplication by helping monsters make a target sum or product.
Splash Math Grade 3: This is a fun and innovative way to practice math. This app includes 16 chapters covering over 200 math skills and an abundance of math problems.
SCIENCE
Science 360: This app offers a range of Science videos, discussing and showing different concepts. While this is designed for upper grades, this app is a great resource for students to use with their parents for further exploration and research.
Science Facts: A helpful app that shows a variety of Science facts in a kid-friendly format.
Science House: This app has a library of over 80 hands-on Science lessons that are great for home and the classroom. These videos demonstrate inexpensive and easy to recreate experiments that are designed to inspire students.
NASA App: This app allows you to explore NASA in the palm of your hand, containing current NASA mission information, images, videos, information, and more.
